The Experience

A Unique Opportunity for Front-Line ECE Educators to Build A Network Within Their Profession.

Session Details

Fellows come together for 8 days of professional learning throughout the school year. Each session includes relationship-building within the cohort and offers opportunities for Fellows to learn and practice skills to support their self-care, communicate more effectively in the workplace, and become more reflective about their professional practice. Most sessions include guest speakers from DC’s early childhood ecosystem.

Expectations and Commitments

Fellows will be expected to:

Stipend and Support

Fellows receive a $1,600 stipend in recognition of their participation. When we meet for in-person sessions, breakfast and lunch will be provided for everyone. In addition, the Fellowship will coordinate with employers to pay a substitute to provide classroom coverage for the days Fellows attend in-person program sessions (this is normally eight days over the course of the year).

Location and Timing

Our sessions are in-person, monthly between September and May. We meet at the Educare Parkside location.

Alumni Programming

After completing the Fellowship year, Fellows join an alumni network, continuing their shared learning, and advocacy through occasional programming.

Language Considerations

Our sessions will be conducted in English, though we welcome applications from educators whose first language is not English. Written applications may be completed in any language. The interview will be conducted only in English.
